I WISH I WERE…


I wish I were a diamond so vividly defined,
Beveled edges, multi faceted, colours entwined,
Behold my supreme beauty, superbly inclined,
And within your strong hands I’d dwell reclined.

I wish I were the sunset so I could greet you,
A sunrise, spectacular scenery shades variegated through,
And introduce you to my friend, the ocean so blue,
And dangle for a while before slumbering true.

I wish I were a heartbeat pulsating within your chest,
Then I would see you at your worse, see you at your best,
Travelling in all directions north, south, east and west,
